PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 16 October 2026. This policy covers the Curbies iPhone app, its Safari extension and this support website. The developer is Reginald Troka.
Curbies uses on-device storage, Apple services for purchases, and optional iCloud progress sync. It has no developer-operated account or billing server. We do not sell your data or include advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
DATA ON YOUR DEVICE
- Screen Time selections: the apps, categories and websites you choose are represented by Apple's opaque selection tokens. The app and its extensions use them locally to apply shields and usage limits.
- Rules and activity: settings, intentions, pending rule changes, unlock counters, Safari activity counters and learning progress are stored on your device. They support the features and progress displays you choose to use.
- Safari access: on websites you permit, the extension can inspect and modify page content to apply controls such as stopping points and feed limits. This processing happens on your device. Browsing history and page content are not sent to the developer.
- Notifications: optional trial and rule-change reminders are scheduled on your device. Notification permission can be changed in iPhone Settings. The app does not collect an email address or send email reminders.
ICLOUD PROGRESS SYNC
There is no account and no sign-in. Curbies uses your iCloud key-value storage to sync stickers, game levels and wins, protected-day and streak records, and completed lessons between devices on the same iCloud account. Apple stores and delivers that copy under your iCloud account; the developer has no service that reads it. Protection rules, selected apps, intentions and Safari activity counters are not included in this sync. You can turn iCloud off for Curbies in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud.
Sync depends on iCloud availability and may be delayed. Apple's handling of its services is described in the Apple privacy policy.
APP STORE PURCHASES
Apple handles purchases, payment information, subscription renewal and refunds. The app reads verified StoreKit purchase information, such as the product and expiry date, to provide the correct plan. It caches entitlement information on the device for use by the app and Safari extension.
An app-generated purchase identifier is stored in the device Keychain and can be sent to Apple with a purchase. The developer does not receive your payment card details or upload your purchase records to a separate billing server.
THIS WEBSITE AND SUPPORT
This static website at curbies.app is hosted by GitHub Pages. It has no signup form, mailing list, cookies or analytics added by the developer. GitHub processes website requests and technical information under its privacy statement.
If you email info@curbies.app, the developer receives your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to answer you, keep it no longer than needed to handle your request, and never add you to a mailing list unless you ask. Email is hosted by Spaceship (Spacemail).
YOUR CHOICES AND DELETION
- Reset all progress: You → Reset All Progress turns off app and Safari protection, clears this phone's progress, counters, rules, intentions and app selections, and queues removal of the iCloud copy. Small deletion records stay in iCloud and on the device so other devices don't upload old progress again; on those devices, sync pauses until you choose what to keep.
- Resume sync: after a reset on another device or an iCloud account change, choose Merge This Phone’s Progress to upload this phone's progress, or Restore From iCloud Only to replace it with the iCloud copy when Apple delivers it.
- Manage permissions: use iPhone Settings to manage Screen Time access, Safari extension access, notifications and iCloud.
- Manage purchases: cancel subscriptions through Apple. Erasing progress or deleting the app does not cancel them.
Keep the app installed and stay connected to iCloud while a reset is queued. Removing the app alone does not delete iCloud progress, and Keychain items and backups may remain. Apple controls the retention of its purchase records, iCloud services and backups. Curbies does not promise immediate delivery of a queued iCloud deletion. Resetting progress does not cancel an Apple subscription.
